As a Security Officer Exterior Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a premier educational location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, staff, faculty, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to the appropriate contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, classrooms, offices, common areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor entry points, visitor traffic, and/or restricted areas while assisting with access control procedures and directing guests in a professional manner.
• Support a welcoming educational environment by communicating clearly, assisting with questions, and reporting maintenance, life-related, and/or security-related issues observed during patrols.

Minimum Requirements

• Proof of high school diploma or GED is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
