Security Officer - Evenings

Description

St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a Part Time Security Officer to join their team. This position operates 3:30pm to 12:00am, weekends.

Position Purpose

The Security Officer is responsible for the security of hospital employees, patients/families, visitors, and property. They serve customers and provide high-quality service with care and courtesy, reporting all accidents or incidents promptly and correcting or reporting any potential safety hazards.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a point of contact for customers/patients in a respectful manner.
• Reports all accidents or incidents promptly.
• Corrects or reports any potential safety hazards.
• Maintains a safe, comfortable, and clean environment.
• Takes appropriate safety and security rounds.
• Maintains watch on the employee parking lot.
• Opens and locks buildings as appropriate.
• Uses and extinguishes premises lights, and turns in a list of defective lights as appropriate.
• Conducts/assists with missing person reports.
• Provides escort services to visitors.
• Maintains smooth control of traffic.
• Assists motorists involved in vehicle breakdowns.
• Maintains safety practices in the area of his/her assignment.
• Has oversight of the SOC (Security Operations Center).
• Handles duties associated with the operation of metal detector and wand.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• 1-2 years customer service-related experience in a hospital setting.
• Prior Hospital Security Officer experience preferred.
• Fingerprints and background check required during the hiring process.
