As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Credential Management in Tampa, FL, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts.
How This Role Works
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Daytime Wednesday 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities across an educational campus.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and communicating with appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate contacts.
- Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
Requirements
- Access control/badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
