As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Entry Authorization in El Segundo, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate at a chemical and petrochemical location.
- Control access to the facility by verifying credentials, monitoring entry and exit activity, maintaining visitor records, and directing authorized personnel, contractors, and deliveries according to site requirements.
- Monitor access-control systems, alarms, and communications equipment; report irregular activity, access concerns, and equipment issues through established procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, evacuations, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following site emergency protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, perimeter areas, parking locations, and designated facility areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Requirements
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- This is primarily a driving post.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
