About the role

This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Computer Patrol in Jacksonville, FL, you’ll have a fixed base schedule with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

  • Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
  • Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: Pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—it’s up to you. This role allows you to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused business location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, common areas, parking facilities, loading areas, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site policies, and support orderly entry and exit procedures.
  • Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately in required reports and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Requirements

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$16.73 / hour
