Security Officer - Energy and Utility Services Company
About the role
Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support daily operations through strong communication and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing updates with supervisors and/or site contacts.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, and other security-related concerns.
- Monitor entry and exit activity at assigned posts, verify credentials when required, and report maintenance issues, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior according to site policies.
- Support day-to-day operations by completing required reports, communicating with team members and/or local contacts, and following Allied Universal standards and post instructions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
