As a Screener at a dynamic educational location, you will help create a welcoming environment by monitoring access points, screening visitors, and supporting security-related procedures. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and use technology to support daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Screen students, visitors, contractors, and deliveries in accordance with site-specific access procedures; verify identification and direct individuals to appropriate campus locations.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct bag or package inspections as permitted by site policy; report prohibited items, suspicious activity, and access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus resources and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entry points, and surrounding areas to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Preferred skills

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
