As a Security Officer Educational Building Patrol Officer in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Security Officer at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming experience for visitors, staff, and guests. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, members, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, galleries, collection areas, and public spaces; verify authorized entry and assist with visitor directions and site information.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and actions according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the museum, including galleries, exhibit spaces, offices, loading areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify unusual conditions and help protect people, property, and cultural assets.
• Maintain awareness of exhibit and collection protection requirements, report maintenance or access-control concerns, and communicate with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership as needed.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.

$17.00 / Hour

Daytime: Wednesday 10:15 AM - 05:15 PM, Thursday 10:15 AM - 05:15 PM, Friday 10:15 AM - 08:15 PM, Saturday 10:15 AM - 05:15 PM, Sunday 10:15 AM - 05:15 PM
