Job Description
As a Security Officer Dispatch Operator in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Dispatch professional with Allied Universal, you will support a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location by coordinating communications, monitoring activity, and helping manage incident response with professionalism and care. This role combines strong customer service, attention to detail, and teamwork to help support smooth security-related operations.

What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, communication protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor phones, radios, alarms, cameras, and other communication systems to receive calls for service, document activity, and dispatch personnel in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Respond to incidents, technical issues, and critical situations by gathering details, relaying accurate information, and coordinating with site contacts and/or emergency services when needed.
- Maintain detailed logs, reports, and records of calls, incidents, visitor activity, and other security-related matters in accordance with site policies.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as assigned, while helping to identify unusual activity and report maintenance, access control, and other security-related concerns.
Minimum Requirements
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
