Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and/or vendors by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and appropriate emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or local responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verifying credentials and/or visitor access in accordance with post instructions and healthcare location protocols.
- Support daily operations by reporting hazards, disturbances, and/or policy violations, and by maintaining a visible presence in assigned areas where working environments and conditions may vary by site.
Requirements
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
