Security Officer - Controlled Entry

About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a technology-focused construction location in Boise, ID, you will monitor entry points, verify badges and visitor access, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting security-related operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors while carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor entry and exit points at a technology, media, and telecommunications location; verify credentials, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate access records.
- Manage visitor, contractor, and delivery access in accordance with established site requirements, directing individuals to authorized areas and reporting irregularities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established security-related protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Requirements
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
