About the role

The Adena Health System Security Officer position is a full-time night shift role located in Chillicothe. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and caregivers within the campus buildings.

Responsibilities

• Physical security protection and promotion of safety within campus buildings
• Utilization of various systems and personal observations through regular patrols
• Assisting patients, visitors, and caregivers
• Enforcing corporate policies
• Responding to and de-escalating disruptive situations
• Escalating dynamic situations to law enforcement
• Completing reports in a timely manner
• Creating new/replacement access badges
• Performing various safety preventative maintenance tasks

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of a security program that includes formal report writing and handling of disruptive situations or successful completion of on-the-job training within first 90 days
• Valid Ohio Driver's License
• 1-2 years physical security experience within a healthcare environment
• 1-2 years law enforcement experience
• 1-2 years corrections experience
• 1-2 years first responder experience

Qualifications

Required certifications include IAHSS Basic Level Security Officer Certification. Additional preferred qualifications include:

• Completion of a security program that includes formal report writing and handling of disruptive situations or successful completion of on-the-job training within first 90 days
• Valid Ohio Driver's License
• 1-2 years physical security experience within a healthcare environment
• 1-2 years law enforcement experience
• 1-2 years corrections experience
• 1-2 years first responder experience
