Security Officer

What you get to do

• Serve as an integral part of the Security Team

• Operate the Dispatch and Communications Center
• Respond to calls for security to de-escalate and resolve issues involving guests, employees, and the public
• Gain experience managing a Dispatch/Communications Center and responding to disturbances needing security and law enforcement response
• Facilitate all park-wide communication via radio, phone, and email
• Maintain records and logs to ensure important and timely information is accessible
• Maintain and enforce safety standards
• Maintain Security checkpoints and posts – inspecting all bags and persons accessing or leaving the property
• Complete routine patrols of the park and surrounding properties on foot and in patrol vehicles
• Provide guests, employees, and vendors with a safe and secure environment
• Work independently or within a team to provide a consistent message and security presence
• Respond and provide aid for emergency situations
• Complete incident reports
• Complete assigned tasks from management as needed

Position Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Minimum 1 year Security, Law Enforcement, or comparable experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience in completing incident reports
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with high aptitude for computer software systems
• Must be able to act responsibly with a high attention to safety
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs
• Engages in extensive walking and standing throughout the entire work shift
• Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
• Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
• Must be willing to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat (both in and out of costume)
• Must provide flexible, consistent availability (including nights, weekends and holidays) and adhere to our Holiday and Availability agreement.
• Must be available to work shift rotations including: 7:00AM-3:30PM, 3:00 PM-11:30PM, and 11:00PM-7:30AM
• Consistently practice safe work habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe situations
• Successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements within established timelines
