Security Officer
About the role
This is a Day Shift Role with a hiring bonus of $1,000 for eligible external hires meeting the required qualifications and conditions for payment. This is a combined posting for a Security Officer and Senior Security Officer roles.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff and property of Swedish Medical Center.
- Conduct random patrols of Swedish Medical Center property.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, report safety hazards, and document actions and observations.
- Respond to alarms and codes by providing traffic control and assisting with safe patient handling.
- Conduct routine safety walks of the facilities and submit remedial requests for concerns identified.
- Routinely engage in stressful situations and may be required to use physical force to maintain safety.
- Engage in a wide range of customer service activities involving direct contact with patients and visitors, providing directions and helping people find their way.
- Use computers to write reports and logs and monitor security cameras and access control systems.
- Work on multiple campuses based on staffing needs or departmental needs.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
- TASER© training and certification (with annual re-certification) within 6 months of hire.
- AVADE/HDTS (Healthcare Defensive Tactics System) Training and Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Customer service experience and/or training.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree preferred.
- 1 year of related civilian or military security/law enforcement experience preferred.
- Healthcare security experience preferred.
Senior Security Officer
- Successful completion of TASER/AXON Training and Certification annually within 90 days of hire.
- Successful completion of AVADE/HDTS (Healthcare Defensive Tactics System) Training and Certification within 90 days of hire.
- 3 years of related civilian or military security/law enforcement experience including at least 2 years in healthcare security.
- Customer service experience and Hospital Incident Command System training preferred.

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Full time, multiple shifts available.
