Job Summary
As our Security Officer, you will protect staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner. This includes incidents such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, or to emergency codes, and requests for opening doors. You will patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle, monitor security alarms, and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed, reporting unsafe acts or conditions.
Responsibilities
- Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle
- Monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed
- Report all unsafe conditions or work hazards
- Investigate security breaches, conduct investigations, and write incident reports
- Ensure all activities are logged and incident reports are accurately completed, clear, concise, legible, and submitted in a timely manner
- Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers
- Keep the organization’s mission, vision, and values at the forefront of all decision making and action
- Demonstrate the professional and technical skills necessary for the role, exhibiting both depth and breadth of expertise
- Build trust and confidence through respectful and credible interactions that reflect positively on personal integrity and the organization’s mission
Requirements
- Required High School Graduate or High School GED in General Studies
- Six (6) months experience as security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service
- One (1) year experience as a security officer
- California Security Guard license
- Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association within 90 Days
