Afternoon Shift (2:00PM - 10:00PM) Tuesday & Wednesday

Who we are looking for

Atkore is seeking a Security Officer to join our team in Harvey, IL. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma, one year of corporate security experience, and EMT certification. This position offers a starting salary range of $32,320 - $44,440, with benefits including medical, vision, dental insurance, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k), paid time off, and holidays.

What you’ll do

• Patrol the property, monitor surveillance cameras, control access, and respond to alarms
• Provide first aid to injured employees and document incidents
• Create detailed incident reports
• Maintain a visible presence to preserve order and protect property
• Respond to disturbances and call for assistance
• Confront and report company rule violations
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide assistance
• Conduct inspections of security systems and equipment
• Report noncompliance and initiate corrective actions
• Maintain clear communications using two-way radios and telephones
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

What you’ll bring

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferred)
• Military experience (plus)
• Valid driver’s license (required)
• One year of corporate security experience (preferred)
• EMT certification (preferred)
• MFR certification within 6 months (required)
• Experience writing detailed reports (preferred)
• Outstanding observational skills (required)
• Ability to stay calm in emergencies (required)
• Maintain a professional attitude (required)
• Strong computer skills (required)
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills (required)
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills (required)

Within 3 months

• Complete Atkore immersion program
• Gain understanding of facility layout, departments, processes, and business flow
• Understand role, team, and department responsibilities
• Understand training materials and processes

Within 6 months

• Understand security patrols, post assignments, and emergency response
• Understand leadership within corporate organization, site management, and key personnel
• Understand all posts and assignments and be able to respond to requests for assistance
• Understand Genetec Security Center software and its functions

Within 12 months

• Become an embedded member of the security team
• Have full understanding of all security post orders, guidelines, and policies
