Job Summary

Position Summary

Responsibilities

  • Communicates security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols.
  • Responds to emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, etc., following established emergency response procedures.
  • Functions as a primary point of contact for the installation of physical security systems within assigned facility.
  • Utilizes knowledge of security-related equipment and technologies including radios, CCTV/IP cameras, imaging recording systems, personal computers, software programs, databases and access control systems to strengthen hospital operations.
  • Assists in the development of a culture of safety by supporting safety education, and safety events.
  • Plans, coordinates and assists, if needed, in security for special and high-risk events.
  • Complies with safety universal precautions, and hazardous material policies.
  • Conducts monthly checks of duress and intrusion alarms.
  • Attends all Safety and Risk Management Committee meetings.
  • Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Special Skills: Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a working knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, security software/CCTV/alarm technologies as well as access control systems
  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Education: High school graduate or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience: Three or more years in a progressively more responsible leadership role
    • Licensure/Certifications: Requires the ability to obtain, and maintain, appropriate state license/certifications for this position. Crisis Intervention Certification preferred, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of start of role. Must maintain certification while in role.
    • Physical Requirements: Must be able to maintain certification while in role. Must maintain a valid state driver’s license, driver history that meets company requirements.
