Security Officer Armed Security Driver Patrol

About the role

As an Armed Security Driver Patrol Officer in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Retail/Malls. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to situations. You will deliver exceptional customer service, communicate clearly with team members and visitors, and support a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, parking areas, loading areas, entrances, exits, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, and potential loss-prevention concerns, and report observations to appropriate site contacts and/or law enforcement as directed.
• Assist with access control, incident documentation, and communication with store personnel during routine operations and emergency situations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license (required for driving positions).
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
