Security Officer Armed Patrol Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or public agencies as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and/or credentials, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or hazards in accordance with post orders.
• Support emergency and public assistance activities by providing directions, assisting with controlled access during incidents, and following established protocols for alarms, evacuations, and/or medical responses.

Requirements

• Possess at least 3 years of experience as a military police officer, corrections officer, or armed security-related professional, or be a certified law enforcement graduate.
• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification for Texas only.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Pre-Employment Requirements (Contractual): 21+ Years of Age (C101), Active Armed Guard Card/License (Texas only) (C122), 3+ Year Military Police or Corrections Officer or Armed Security or Certified Law Enforcement Graduate (C156), 3+ Years' Combined Law Enforcement/Corrections/Military OR 5+ Years Armed Security Experience.
