Security Officer Armed Patrol Observation

About the role

As an Armed Patrol Observation Security Officer in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Food/Beverage. This part-time position offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you through our Claim a Shift platform. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to client personnel, visitors, and delivery drivers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a food and beverage manufacturing location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, loading docks, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to identify unusual conditions and support site policies.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, and assist with directing vendors, contractors, and delivery personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and problem-solve; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed by established procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and other security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and client representatives.

Requirements

• Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
