Security Officer - Armed Patrol Cardholder

About the role

Allied Universal® is seeking a Part‑Time Armed Patrol Security Officer in Ashburn, VA to serve and safeguard clients in government and educational environments. The role involves routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, and responding to security‑related concerns with professionalism while providing exceptional customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at educational facilities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established school and local procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of school buildings, parking areas, athletic facilities, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior or policy violations, and maintain clear, timely incident documentation.
• Collaborate with school administrators, staff, first responders, and Allied Universal leadership to support a professional and welcoming learning environment.

Requirements

• Valid armed guard card or license.
• Handcuffing certification (preferred).
• Pepper spray certification (preferred).
• CPR certification (preferred).
• Baton certification (preferred).
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screening as permitted by law.
• Participation in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements subject to state and/or local regulations; may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Pay

$26.62 per hour

Schedule

Daytime – Monday 2:30 PM – 8:30 PM; Wednesday 2:30 PM – 8:30 PM (Part‑Time)
