About the role
As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location in Houston, TX, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. You will support a welcoming environment through exceptional customer service, clear communication, and integrity.
This is a part-time position with a pay rate of $18.40 per hour.
Schedule
Monday and Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, following established visitor management and access-control procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate emergency services and site representatives when needed.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs regarding patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns.
Minimum Requirements
- Possess at least 3 years of Military Police or Corrections Officer experience, or be a Certified Law Enforcement Graduate.
- Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
- Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
- An Armed Guard Card or License is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
