Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Entry Control in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal in a government location as an Armed Access Control Officer, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support a professional, welcoming environment. You will remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, document activity, and communicate with staff and visitors.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor access control points, verify identification and credentials, process visitor entry, and maintain logs of arrivals, departures, deliveries, and/or denied access activity according to site protocols.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public agencies as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, lobbies, restricted areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access and report maintenance, lighting, and/or security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Have 1+ years of law enforcement experience OR 2+ years of security supervisor/manager experience OR 3+ years of security experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess a college degree.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Licensing Requirements

• Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
