About the role
As an Armed Access Control Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, verify access credentials, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This driving position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting site operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
- Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor entry records, issuing access badges or passes as authorized, and reporting access concerns according to site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed by established protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, perimeter areas, and designated operational zones to help identify unauthorized activity, hazardous conditions, or security-related concerns.
- Document daily activities, access-control events, incidents, and observations in required logs and reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
Requirements
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Guard card or license is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
Pay
$22.00 / Hour
Schedule
- Friday: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
- Sunday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
