What You'll Do

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or local authorities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and/or conditions that may require follow-up.
  • Monitor access points and help to verify authorized entry of employees, contractors, and/or visitors in accordance with location protocols and posted requirements.
  • Support public-facing operations by providing directions, answering routine questions, and helping to address security-related concerns while maintaining professionalism in a government setting.

Minimum Requirements

  • Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
