Security Officer - Access Control Patrol

About the role
As a Security Officer Access Control Patrol in Rio Oso, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Utilities. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, monitor access points, and assist employees and visitors with professionalism. You will communicate observations, respond to security-related concerns, and support a welcoming environment through exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a utility location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, utility infrastructure areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access to assigned areas, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
- Complete clear, accurate activity reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- This is primarily a driving post.
- Experience with access control and badges is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
