Responsibilities
- Provide fixed, walking and vehicular patrols of all RUMC buildings and grounds.
- Perform Security Services Dispatch functions.
- Conduct basic interviews and investigations.
- Observe and document security and safety hazards.
- Prepare incident reports, memorandums and other written documentation.
- Assists local police agencies during investigations or emergencies.
- Maintains and enforces vehicular and pedestrian traffic patterns in the Medical Center as assigned.
- Provides security escort services as assigned.
- Participates in property control procedures (accepts, records, stores, returns, or releases to authorized persons).
- Responds to emergency situations (i.e. Code Red, Blue, Code Triage, Code Orange, etc.).
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED.
- Previous Hospital Security Experience Preferred But Not Required.
- Valid driver’s (Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin) license required.
- Must have a prior driving record deemed acceptable to RUMC based upon the results of a Motor Vehicle Report check conducted by Human Resources.
- Must possess and be responsible for maintaining current Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC).
- Must have completed 28 hours firearm training as demonstrated through a certification of successful completion of Firearms Training Course.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Firearm Control Card (FCC)* within 90 days of employment (*Including revolver).
- Illinois Firearm’s Owner’s Identification Permit (FOID) required.
- International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (“IAHSS”) certification required within six months of employment and maintained thereafter.

- Ability to exercise independent judgment; excellent customer service skills.
- Physically Able To Perform Required Responsibilities.
- Must be able to stand or walk during the majority, if not entire tour of duty and be able to withstand weather extremes for external assignments.
- Must be able to wear body armor.

Pay
