Security Manager
About the role
Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Loss Prevention, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service to both internal and external guest.
- Review daily reports, arrival, VIP, group and ensure proper execution of the details therein.
- Work closely with all Departments to safeguard assets and ensure compliance in all life safety and security areas.
- Perform colleague bag check and locker check programs within the hotel.
- Admin Hotel Key Program, and access for colleagues.
- Admin to the security camera system. Provide training for new team members.
- Ensure security team is prepared and has a rapid response culture to all internal and external guest requests.
- Ensure team has clear, concise and factual reporting of all incidents, accidents and rounds and that the information is distributed appropriately.
- Attend required meetings.
- Ensure team monitors security of all space and assets throughout shift.
- Provide Life Safety training during orientation of new associates, coordinating with T&C.
- Provide New hire training for new security team members.
- Manage and train CPR, AED, choking for associates that are required.
- Manage and conduct training topics in accordance to Standards and requirements set forth by Fairmont.
- Participate in local city government hotel safety meetings.
- Assist Director in special projects for department.
- Department administrative duties, such as scheduling, Labor meetings, payroll.
- Complete required monthly department meeting for security department.
- Responsible for conducting health and Safety committee monthly meeting, finding ways to minimize risk to the property.
- Ensure department specific OSHA requirements are met.
- Manage life safety contact notification tree for emergencies.
- Update life safety manuals for departments quarterly.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of security offices.
- Manage the lost and found system
Qualifications
- Prefer to have several years previous experience in an upscale hospitality environment.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- CPR, AED certified.
- Excellent leadership, written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with multitasking prioritization.
- Must have schedule flexibility.
- Must be able to manage confidential information to standards set forth.
Physical Aspects of Position
- Constant walking and standing during shift
- May occasionally exert up to 25 pounds lift, carry, push, or pull objects
Visa Requirements
- Must have proof of valid U.S. work authorization.
