About the role

As a Commercial Security Installation Technician III, you will assist the Project Manager with on-site scheduling, work activities, and timely equipment delivery. You will install, program, and configure commercial electronic security systems for enterprise clients, including door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low-voltage communication, electronic locks, point sensors, and signaling devices.

Responsibilities

  • Connect control panels, ensure application requirements are met, conceal wiring, and install security software
  • Troubleshoot new installations to ensure systems function properly and comply with codes
  • Demonstrate Allied Universal’s core values as a highly skilled leader on the Installation Team
  • Supervise teams of Security Installation Technician I’s and II’s
  • Manage multiple medium- to large-sized jobs simultaneously within approved hours and margin tolerances
  • Drive to client sites using a company-issued vehicle to perform installations and confirm system effectiveness
  • Install electrical wiring, panels, cables, and security devices
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the manager
  • Deliver product familiarization training to end-users
  • Load servers with third-party applications and deploy IP video solutions

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in physical security, fire alarm, or low-voltage communication industry, including installing field devices, programming systems, and managing medium- to large-sized jobs
  • Experience with any of the following is preferred: Software House, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Brivo, Milestone, Exacq, Axis, Bosch, Commend, DMP, Open Options, Notifier, Fluidmesh, or ONSSI
  • Ability to obtain proper state licensing (e.g., Low Voltage D license, Alarm Installer Lic.) once hired
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Valid driver’s license with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 36 months, no more than one accident in the last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in the last 24 months), and ability to safely operate a vehicle
  • Ability to complete daily time entry from home via the Internet
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Project)
  • General working knowledge of network architecture
  • Ability to work on-call on a rotational basis
  • Overnight travel may be required as needed
