The role
Pouring with Heart is currently looking for a new Security Host to work the door at Seven Grand, San Diego. We are excited to find a new family member to help keep our crews and guests safe.
Main Duties
- Greet guests warmly and set the tone for a safe, welcoming environment
- Verify IDs accurately and manage guest entry in line with venue policies
- Monitor the floor and bar areas for safety concerns, escalating issues when necessary
- Support staff and guests through conflict resolution and clear communication
- Use de-escalation techniques to manage situations calmly and respectfully
- Aid with crowd flow, line management, and capacity control during peak hours
- Report incidents, hazards, or policy violations to leadership promptly
Required Skills/Qualifications
- 3+ years prior security, guest services, or hospitality experience preferred
- Strong situational awareness, confidence, and professionalism under pressure
- Ability to de-escalate conflicts with patience, respect, and clear communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills with both guests and teammates
- Team-oriented mindset with a balance of authority and hospitality
- Must be 21+ and have valid security guard certifications if required (varies by state)
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to lift and move up to 200 pounds
- Fast-paced movements and mobility required to cover bar and floor space efficiently
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as part of daily bar operations
