Security Guard - Part Time Driver Patrol

About the role

This part-time enhanced security officer position is designed for individuals seeking flexible, dependable income with the option to supplement earnings by picking up additional shifts. The role is based at an assigned site in Fairfax, VA, with a fixed weekly shift commitment.

Pay and schedule

• Pay Rate: $18.22 / Hour
• Schedule: Day Time, Thursday 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM
• Fixed-shift commitment of six (6) months at designated site
• Option to pick up extra shifts through the Claim-A-Shift program
• Part-time hours with ability to build up to full-time (up to 40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility customers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify unusual activity, hazards, and unauthorized access concerns
• Monitor access to assigned locations, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident records in accordance with site procedures
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders when required
• Assist with maintaining an orderly environment at water utility operations by reporting maintenance, infrastructure, and security-related concerns through established channels

Requirements

• Valid driver's license (required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy)
• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Subject to background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• Subject to drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment

Preferred qualifications

• Customer service experience
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Access control and badge experience
