About the role
ADESA, a Carvana owned company, operates over 50 locations across the US. We provide vehicle services including repair & reconditioning, auction remarketing, and serve as market hub distribution centers. We're looking for Security Guards to join our team!
Responsibilities
- Secure all gates and buildings and patrol the premises.
- Sound alarms and notify authorities in case of emergency.
- Verify only authorized individuals enter the property.
- Provide facility directions to customers, vendors and transporters.
- Check gate passes to ensure vehicles are authorized to exit property.
- Check departing vehicles to guard against theft of company property.
- Greet customers at the gate and provide prompt and courteous service.
- Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
- De-escalate difficult situations to ensure we win with partners and collaborate on the forefront.
- Input vehicle information using a handheld device.
- Verify the VIN number matches the one on the Bill of Lading.
- Report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and doors left unsecured.
- Maintain a current list of emergency and management telephone numbers.
- Maintain good operating condition of all equipment and facilities.
- Notify management of all breakdowns and maintenance needs.
- Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work environment.
- Practice and promote teamwork continuously.
- Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
- Maintain a good flow of communication with all auction team members and leaders.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Requires computer data entry skills.
- Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
- Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
- Able to safely drive a variety of make/model/sizes of vehicles.
- Requires standing for extended periods.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience within a customer service environment.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships.
- Ability to handle conflict situations in a positive way.
- Adequate customer service skills.
- Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
