Security Guard (Part Time) - ADESA Northfield

About the role

ADESA, a Carvana owned company, operates over 50 locations across the US. We provide vehicle services including repair & reconditioning, auction remarketing, and serve as market hub distribution centers. We're looking for Security Guards to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Secure all gates and buildings and patrol the premises.
• Sound alarms and notify authorities in case of emergency.
• Verify only authorized individuals enter the property.
• Provide facility directions to customers, vendors and transporters.
• Check gate passes to ensure vehicles are authorized to exit property.
• Check departing vehicles to guard against theft of company property.
• Greet customers at the gate and provide prompt and courteous service.
• Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• De-escalate difficult situations to ensure we win with partners and collaborate on the forefront.
• Input vehicle information using a handheld device.
• Verify the VIN number matches the one on the Bill of Lading.
• Report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and doors left unsecured.
• Maintain a current list of emergency and management telephone numbers.
• Maintain good operating condition of all equipment and facilities.
• Notify management of all breakdowns and maintenance needs.
• Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work environment.
• Practice and promote teamwork continuously.
• Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
• Maintain a good flow of communication with all auction team members and leaders.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Requires computer data entry skills.
• Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
• Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
• Able to safely drive a variety of make/model/sizes of vehicles.
• Requires standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience within a customer service environment.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships.
• Ability to handle conflict situations in a positive way.
• Adequate customer service skills.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
