Responsibilities
- Maintain a secure environment for all residents and associates within the building and on the community grounds.
- Greet and monitor visitors and residents coming and going from the building; log all residents and visitors in and out.
- Monitor the inside and outside of the building and the parking lot; report any abnormal findings to the Executive Director or proper authorities.
- Lock doors at designated times according to community protocol; check the security of all doors regularly throughout the night.
- Maintain familiarity with and monitor all emergency and safety equipment including security cameras, phones, and life safety systems.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies by contacting appropriate internal and external parties according to established protocol.
- Assist with disaster management efforts and activities during evacuations (e.g., fires, hurricanes).
- Answer the phone promptly; respond to questions, direct calls, or take messages as appropriate.
- Escort residents and visitors to the parking lot during evening hours as requested.
- Handle leasing inquiries after hours and on weekends, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Drive the bus or community vehicle as needed or as scheduled.
- Handle minor maintenance emergencies (e.g., plugged toilets, reset breakers, replace light bulbs).
- Ensure the lobby and administrative offices are vacuumed and kept clean and neat; notify housekeeping if cleaning is needed.
- Interact with residents and guests in a friendly and courteous manner, providing assistance and directions as requested.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
- One to three months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fire Safety and Basic CPR/First Aid training.
- Valid driver’s license for positions requiring travel between locations or transportation of residents.
Skills
- Basic level of skill with the ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
- Basic technical skills to complete repetitive and well-defined duties.
- Basic knowledge of the organization to answer routine questions.
- Makes standard and routine decisions based on detailed guidelines with little independent judgment.
