Security Guard (Overnight) - ADESA Tulsa

About the role

As a Security Guard, you will be an integral part of the Security Team, ensuring the protection of our associates, customers, and assets. You will serve as the face of ADESA at our gates, interacting with customers, vendors, and associates while enforcing Inventory Control procedures. This hourly position reports to the Operations or designated manager and may require working various shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Secure all gates and buildings and patrol the premises.
• Sound alarms and notify authorities in case of emergency.
• Verify only authorized individuals enter the property.
• Provide facility directions to customers, vendors, and transporters.
• Check gate passes to ensure vehicles are authorized to exit the property.
• Inspect departing vehicles to guard against theft of company property.
• Greet customers at the gate and provide prompt and courteous service.
• Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• De-escalate difficult situations to maintain positive collaboration.
• Using a handheld device, input vehicle information including VIN, miles, owner identification, vehicle options, repair orders, and other pertinent details.
• Verify the VIN number matches the shipper’s Bill of Lading.
• Watch and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and unsecured doors.
• Account for and identify all keys, codes, or other safety and security information.
• Maintain a current list of emergency and management telephone numbers.
• Maintain good operating condition of all equipment and facilities, including handheld devices and printers.
• Notify management of breakdowns and maintenance needs.
• Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work environment.
• Promote teamwork and set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
• Maintain strong communication with all auction team members and leaders.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience within a customer service environment.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships.
• Ability to handle conflict situations positively.
• Ability to accurately enter data on a handheld device or computer.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Computer data entry skills.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license that meets requirements.
• Able to safely drive a variety of vehicle makes, models, and sizes.
• Requires standing for extended periods.

Schedule

3rd shift, Friday–Monday, 11pm–6am (32 hours per week, subject to change based on business needs; open availability highly preferred).

Physical Working Conditions
