Security Guard Luxury Retail Environment

About the role

We are seeking a Security Officer to provide a professional and visible presence at a confidential luxury fashion boutique in Tribeca, Lower Manhattan. The officer will be the first face guests encounter and will manage crowd control and guest flow during busy periods. The role requires discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to de‑escalate disruptive behavior while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Location: New York, NY 10013 (Tribeca)
Schedule: Part‑time weekends only, Saturday and Sunday 12:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and visible presence within the boutique, greeting guests while staying alert.
• Monitor store activity and guest movement with strong situational awareness.
• Manage guest flow during busy retail periods, weekends, and retail activations.
• Identify and de‑escalate disruptive or suspicious behavior with calm, direct communication.
• Communicate clearly with store leadership regarding incidents or operational concerns.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding clientele and store operations.
• Complete incident reports and documentation when required.
• Represent the boutique’s standard of professionalism in appearance and conduct.

Requirements

• Valid New York State Security Guard License (required before the first day).
• Background in law enforcement, military, corrections, security, or similar roles – preferred.
• Experience in luxury retail, hospitality, concierge‑style security, or other guest‑facing environments – a strong plus.
• Sharp situational awareness and sound judgment under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with high‑end clientele.
• Professional demeanor, polished appearance, and strict discretion at all times.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and remain alert throughout the shift.
• Reliable transportation and a consistent track record of punctuality.
• Availability for weekend scheduling and on‑call assignments.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $26.50, increasing to $28 per hour after 90 days.
