Security Guard (Kamehameha Industrial Center)

First Hawaiian Bank is seeking a Security Guard to join our Security Department at our Kamehameha Industrial Center.

Pay

$20.00 - $25.00/hr

Schedule

Overnight shift of 9:30 PM - 5:30 AM (hours may vary)

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for FHB employees, vendors/contractors, visitors, materials, and assets on premise
• Perform daily guard functions under the direction of the Security Supervisor
• Support the physical security program at Kamehameha Industrial Center (KIC)

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) Guard Employee Registration ("Guard Card") – not required at time of hire, must be obtained within 90 days of hire
• Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
• 1 year of experience in physical security, including experience with security monitoring systems (alarms & video)
• Successful completion of security courses/certification through military/police programs (preferred)

• Ability to effectively work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders (FHB administrative departments, Main Banking Center, bank employees, vendors/contractors, tenants, visitors, and law enforcement authorities)
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate and foster cooperation from various individuals
• Strong oral and written communication skills for reports and documentation
• Ability to calmly communicate and rationalize with others in various situations
• Ability to monitor surroundings continuously and quickly assess potential threats requiring immediate response
• Ability to maintain composure and make quick, sound decisions in stressful situations and emergencies
• Judgement and discretion in handling confidential information
• Proficiency with telephone and portable radio
• Strong working knowledge of computer and MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
