SECURITY GUARD I (NIGHTS) - SECURITY DEPARTMENT
About the role
This position will likely work three 12-hour night shifts Thursday - Saturday from 1600 - 0430.
Responsibilities
- Protecting staff, patients, and visitors and ensuring all hospital property is secure.
- Patrolling the building and its grounds.
- Monitoring badging.
- Monitoring all activity in and out of the hospital.
- Responding to code calls.
- Preventing vandalism, theft, fire, and disturbances within the facility.
- Assisting leadership with incident command, emergency management planning, and safety training and planning.
- Working under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina, and endurance.
- Working closely with other departments as needed to ensure the security of the facility, staff, and patients.
- Projecting a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of the Hospital, patients, and employees as appropriate.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
- A valid driver's license and good driving record.
- FEMA Training to be completed within 3 months of hire.
- Successful completion of the Hospital Security Officers Basic Training Program and receipt of certificate through the International Association for Hospital Security and Safest Foundation within 6 months of hire.
- MOAB Certification within 12 months of hire.
- Previous security experience preferred; healthcare or hospital security experience is a plus.
