About the role
As a Hospital Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard a high-profile healthcare customer. You will be responsible for the surveillance of the client’s healthcare premises and the protection of staff, members, and visitors. Detect and prevent suspicious activity, observe and report incidents, and provide customer service in a friendly and professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
- Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals
- Orally and physically de-escalate individuals, as needed
- Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
- Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility
- Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency
- Assist with patient escort, patient watch, provide safety escort, and/or transport deceased to morgue
- May be required to assist nursing staff with patient restraints (proper training provided)
- May be required to escort nursing staff to hospital morgue with deceased patients
Requirements
- Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations
- At least 21 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only
- Post offer, must successfully complete training and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification
- Frequent walking/standing required (indoor/outdoor); moderate technological usage required
- Multiple vaccinations required prior to working on site (company paid), including: two-stage Tuberculosis screening, MMR, Varicella, Tetanus screenings (TB testing instructions provided at orientation)
- State-issued medical marijuana card not accepted at this site
- Child abuse clearance will be submitted at orientation
Pay
$18.50 per hour
Schedule
- Part-time, up to 30 hours per week, weekends included
- Available shifts: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM or 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
