Security Guard - Full Time ($18 hourly)

Position Summary

The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church, and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual, emotional, and physical regeneration of all people. The Kroc Center Hawaii aims to be a dynamic and flourishing gathering place for diverse community where all are welcomed, inspired, and transformed through the love of Christ. The Security Guard's role is to maintain a safe environment for all employees, clients, and visitors by providing a visual security presence, monitoring facility activity, and executing emergency response procedures.

Essential Functions

• Provide a visual security presence by circulating among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Conduct hourly rounds to monitor facility activity.
• Report problems to the Security Manager.
• Check stairwells, fire exits, mechanical room, and fire extinguishers and pull boxes.
• Under the specific guidance of the Facilities Manager, ensure that all mechanical systems are functioning properly.
• Maintain a shift log.
• Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.
• Attend staff meetings and other administrative meetings.
• Maintain regular and punctual work attendance.
• Monitor and adjust computerized lighting and timers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description Of Work Environment

The employee is regularly exposed to inside and outside work in all types of weather, i.e., wet, and/or humid conditions, heat or cold.

• Security Duty Belt;
• Two-way radio/cell phone;
• Flashlight/Torch;
• Fire Extinguisher (Golf Cart);
• Mini First Aid Kit;
• CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
• Must have current valid State of Hawaii Guard Card.
• Certification or ability to attain the same within required time period for the following: First Aid, CPR, AED, and CIP (Crisis Intervention Program).
