Security Guard Enhanced Patrol Driver

About the role

Allied Universal® offers a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position in North Bergen, NJ. This role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts via the Claim‑A‑Shift program to increase earnings. It is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time work with income stability, the opportunity to build up to a full‑time schedule (up to 40 hours per week), and the option to scale back as needed. The position requires a six‑month commitment to the anchor shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or property staff while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor building access, observe and report unusual conditions, and document incidents, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Assist with access control, visitor inquiries, and general property support while maintaining a professional presence.

Requirements

• At least two years of security‑related experience.
• Valid driver’s license (required per Allied Universal driver policy).
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems preferred.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful background investigation and drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing subject to state/local requirements; may be required prior to employment.

Pay

$20.00 per hour.

Schedule

Fixed anchor shift: Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (DayTime). Additional shifts can be claimed via the scheduling platform to increase weekly hours up to 40 hours.
