Job Summary
- Answers questions and gives directions to visitors to State facilities.
- Controls access to State facilities and offices.
- Inspects buildings and facilities to detect potential fire and safety hazards.
- Patrols assigned State facilities and inspects the premises.
- Responds to calls for assistance in handling emergency situations.
- May operate fire extinguishers or standpipe hoses to extinguish fires.
- Prepares written reports of shift activities.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Candidates must meet established physical and medical requirements for appointment to the position as per the Department of Civil Service Employee Health Services.
- Appointees to this position may be required to undergo periodic medical examinations to reassess their ability to perform the essential duties of the position.

Salary Range

Hiring Rate: $40,169 Base Salary plus $3,400 Location Pay and $1,550 Facility Security Pay
