Security Guard

About the Role

The Security Guard is responsible for carrying out security operations and ensuring the safety of students, employees, and visitors while on school grounds. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety operations, ensuring constructive and positive communications and customer service-oriented relationships with faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
• Patrol and monitor school buildings, grounds, parking lots, perimeter, restrooms, and eating areas to enforce school rules regarding safety and student behavior, prevent loitering, and ensure compliance with school regulations and local laws.
• Assist with scheduled drills and appropriate response for all campus facilities-related emergencies.
• Serve as a liaison to police, sheriff, and fire department personnel as directed.
• Support School federal and state regulatory compliance requirements, including Cal/OSHA, LA Educational Code, and all fire and life safety-related codes and requirements.
• Model Milken values.
• Assist with coordination and execution of security operations for specific events.
• Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms.
• Review reports on incidents and breaches.
• Perform other related work duties, including providing support to other Operations areas as required.

Requirements

• 1 year or more of directly related experience in security/operations management.
• Ability to work with and around people in a positive and cooperative manner.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Able to be on feet and walk for extended periods, including on uneven, unsteady terrain.
• Able to access confined or otherwise difficult-to-reach spaces.
• Able to lift and carry 40 pounds for up to 20 feet.
• Maintenance work order software experience preferred.
• Valid certification or re-certification for CPR/AED/First Aid within 2 months.

Schedule

Week/weekend & swing shifts.

Pay

$22 - $25/hr
