About the role
As an Armed Patrol Incident Response Security Guard in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment through exceptional customer service and communication. You will respond to situations with professionalism, teamwork, and integrity while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and caring culture.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including the business perimeter, parking areas, and access points, to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access to the location, verify authorized personnel and visitors as required, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate site contacts.
- Maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation, and communicate observations with Allied Universal leadership and client representatives as needed.
Requirements
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
