Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, label, and dress Category (Cat5–Cat6A) and fiber optic cabling
- Test installed cabling using appropriate certification equipment
- Install and configure racks, cable trays, patch panels, cabinets, and workstation outlets
- Perform MDF/IDF buildouts and ensure proper cable management
- Interpret blueprints and system layouts to execute installations accurately
- Operate lifts and adhere to ladder safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and client representatives
- Maintain quality standards and meet project deadlines
Qualifications
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform detailed system takeoffs using Bluebeam Revu
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Develop bid proposals and project budgets
- Quantify and scope system components including access control devices, cameras, and supporting infrastructure
- Coincide with vendors and manufacturers on pricing, product selection, and system design
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site walkthroughs
- Support project handoff to operations teams upon award
- Maintain accurate estimating records and track bid outcomes
