Security Engineer- Orlando, FL

About the role

The Security Engineer will be responsible for implementing security controls for Department of Defense client network and infrastructure elements/systems, to meet federal regulatory compliance specifications. Candidates will also perform an in-depth analysis of the current infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Technical assessments of systems and networks and identify deviations from acceptable configurations or local policy
• Analyzes to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards
• Conducts reviews of each system audits and monitor corrective actions until closure
• Reviews security logs, analyzes security reports, and provides technical security solutions for systems and software
• Exercises good cyber hygiene in support of the overall programs
• Presents security information to management and customers
• Works on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Works on complex technical problems and provides innovative solutions
• Derives assignments using self-initiative and executes courses of action required to obtain desired results
• Applies strong interpersonal, organizational, and teambuilding skills
• Applies strong writing and oral presentation skills
• Writes final-version technical documents and reports

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
• A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with some relevant years of experience OR a Master’s degree in STEM
• Ability to follow and create technical instructions for future execution
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting steps on Linux-based and Windows-based systems
• Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server, VMware ESXi
• Working knowledge of firewalls and networking
• One of the following certifications: CAP, CASP CE, CISM, GSLC, CISSP Associate, Security+, or CISSP
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, and/or "on call" support
• Ability to travel up to 25% per year (CONUS/OCONUS)
