Security Engineer III
About the Role
Rack Room Shoes is seeking a senior-level cybersecurity professional responsible for designing, building, and maintaining advanced security systems to protect the organization's networks, infrastructure, and data. This role acts as the senior technical engineer leading investigations, remediation, and improvements in detection and response.
Responsibilities
- Lead investigations, remediation, and improvements in detection and response for cybersecurity threats.
- Provide network or cybersecurity production support with a user emphasis.
- Apply knowledge of penetration testing methodologies, vulnerability scanning, and remediation.
- Perform incident response, cyber threat hunting, and cybersecurity analytics.
- Work autonomously or collaboratively under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in an IT discipline (computer-related field with Cybersecurity emphasis).
- 6-10 years of industry-related practical experience as a Network and Cybersecurity Engineer.
- Working experience with Cisco routers, switches, Wi-Fi controllers, and firewalls.
- Working experience with cybersecurity tools and platforms (Cisco preferred).
- Knowledge of PCI standards.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network security administration, cybersecurity architecture, and network security protocols.
- Strong understanding of advanced cyber threats and adversary methodologies.

- Strong communication skills and professional attitude when collaborating with teams.
Physical Demands
- Primarily sedentary role requiring the ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional standing and walking.
- Must possess fine motor skills for typing and the ability to reach, grasp, and lift light objects (e.g., files).
- Requires good near vision for computer work and the ability to bend or stoop to access lower drawers.

Work Environment
This position is located in Charlotte, NC, and the candidate must be willing to relocate if not already in the Charlotte Metro area. The role is primarily office-based.
