About the role
VMR Campaign Management seeks an experienced and innovative Security Engineer to join the team in Austin, TX. This role assesses, triages, and drives the remediation of security, compliance, and privacy risks across Amazon's critical business functions.
Responsibilities
- Create and launch campaigns at scale while maintaining a high security and quality bar.
- Deeply understand and assess technical details and potential impacts of security campaigns across Amazon's infrastructure, services, and applications.
- Reduce manual remediation and builder toil through automation and paved path solutions.
- Work with security teams to identify preventative security measures to address current and future risks.
- Design and implement automation, tools, and workflows to enhance operations capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP
- Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques
- Experience in scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language (non-internship)
- 2+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object-oriented languages
- 5+ years of industry-based experience in security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques (non-internship)
Qualifications
- Diverse experiences valued
- 2+ years of programming experience
- 3+ years of networking and troubleshooting experience
Skills
Experience with AWS products and services, knowledge of usage or integration experience with common cloud-hosted services, and experience with scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language are preferred.
