Security Engineer II, Stores Application Security
About the role
As a Security Engineer, you will collaborate with software development teams to ensure we keep our customers safe while developing novel services. You might inspect applications for security issues, build frameworks to enhance security, or analyze new services alongside developers.
Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain threat models for various software projects
- Conduct first-party application security research
- Perform manual and automated secure code reviews in Java, Python, and JavaScript
- Identify and mitigate security issues at scale
- Develop security automation tools
- Perform adversarial security analysis using innovative tools
- Provide security guidance and work with internal software development teams
- Influence team and partner processes, priorities, and choices to improve outcomes
Requirements
- Experience with SDLC phases like security design review, threat modeling, secure code review, and security testing
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Java, Python, Perl, Bash, Ruby, PowerShell)
- Ability to explain complex technical risks to non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- Experience with AWS services, network architecture, and enterprise IT systems
- Experience driving continuous and scalable improvements in security controls and practices
- Experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, software development, cryptography, system administration, and penetration testing
Skills
The ideal candidate combines technical acumen with influencing and communicating abilities. They must independently solve security problems and influence team processes.

Pay
Base salary range: $159,300.00 - $202,400.00 USD annually
