Security Engineer II, AWS Vulnerability Management, Third Party Software

About the role

At Amazon, Security is our highest priority. Our team builds products and services to continuously identify, track, and mitigate security risks in third-party software and open source libraries across AWS.

AWS Security is looking for a Security Engineer to manage security vulnerabilities in third-party software and open source libraries used by AWS applications and services.

You'll invent and simplify mechanisms that make updating vulnerable third-party packages a natural part of the software development lifecycle within AWS, and you will have the opportunity to learn from, and be mentored by, those who are building and securing our services.

A Security Engineer at Amazon is expected to be strong in their security domain, for this role it's third party software and open source vulnerability management, and provide contributions to the AWS Security team and to our customers throughout Amazon.

Security engineers are expected to develop elegant solutions to complex business problems and apply appropriate technologies while following security engineering best practices.

You are also expected to mentor more junior engineers and be a security thought leader for the organization.

A Security Engineer must foster constructive dialogue and seek resolution when confronted with discordant views.
