About the role

The Security Dispatcher is responsible for communication between the casino and security officers. The dispatcher acts as the primary point of contact for the entire facility, serving as a communication hub, help desk, and general receptionist for back-of-the-house operations.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and radio messages for various reasons such as medical/EMT responses, place 911 calls, log the call, time, and description, and acquire camera coverage where possible.
  • Control the radio net and direct responses according to established procedures.
  • Screens all non-team members and verifies their authorization to gain entry into the Back-Of-The-House (BOH).
  • Ensures visitors and vendors sign in/out and issue/retrieve a temporary badge.
  • Possesses knowledge of computer functions and operates various applications.
  • Maintains fleet vehicles: controls keys and records required entries on the activity log for fleet vehicles.
  • Maintains Controlled Keys and documents issue/receive according to procedure.
  • Maintains awareness of alarms on the annunciation panel and makes proper notifications according to procedures.
  • Coordinates EMS, local law enforcement, managers, security officers, and the general population of the casino in response to emergencies and notifications.
  • Makes records of events and activities.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED, or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  • One (1) year experience in law enforcement, corrections, or other security DISPATCH capacity (preferred).
  • Experienced and proficient user in Microsoft Word; a skills test will be administered and candidate must achieve at least 70% skills pass rate.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; a skills test will be administered and candidate must achieve at least 70% skills pass rate.
  • All candidates are required to participate in a panel interview and may be asked to demonstrate required skills through a realistic job preview which includes prepared scenarios and role-play.
  • Experience in customer relations or guest services.
  • Must complete/pass TIPS and Title#31 training as a condition of employment.
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required.
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position.
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment.
